ElderServe’s Response to COVID-19

LOUISVILLE, KY (March 2020) – ElderServe is taking COVID-19 and its potential to spread across our community very seriously. ElderServe is committed to doing everything conceivable to ensure the best possible outcome for everyone.  We have been fortunate, so far, and have no clients or employees with known confirmed diagnoses of COVID-19.

Our clients are 60 + years old, many with underlying health conditions, and are classified as the most vulnerable population to this virus.  ElderServe will continue to provide critical daily services through non-medical in-home care and our Adult Day Health Center which is located at 631 South 28th Street.  We are reviewing other programs and will determine ElderServe’s ability to safely deliver support through phone and email.  However, in support of social distancing, ElderServe is suspending all group activities including wellness and social programs, employee training and other events until further notice.

Where possible, employees are being asked to work remotely and we are exploring increased options for at-home network access.  It’s very likely that we will also reduce office hours. Visitors to either location are being limited and will be asked to participate in a quick health questionnaire before entry is permitted.  Realizing this situation has an unpredictable path, ElderServe will continue to assess, prepare and remain nimble in order to react quickly to ever-changing conditions.
