ElderServe Community Services: Supporting Our Seniors Across Generations
ElderServe Community Services is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for older adults in Louisville’s West End. Our programs are designed to help seniors overcome social isolation, maintain their independence, and pursue overall wellness, while fostering connections across generations.
Key Community Services Offered:
Volunteer Opportunities: We offer various volunteer programs for community members to engage with seniors, allowing for meaningful connections while supporting seniors in their daily activities.
Senior Advocacy and Outreach: ElderServe advocates for the rights and well-being of older adults by participating in local initiatives, policy discussions, and providing seniors with information on legal assistance, housing, and healthcare.
Civic Engagement Opportunities: We encourage seniors to stay active in civic life by offering voter registration assistance, hosting community forums, and promoting volunteerism in local advocacy efforts.
Intergenerational Engagement: Through our partnership with Simmons College of Kentucky students assist seniors at the Simmons Tech Hub located here at ElderServe. This unique intergenerational initiative helps bridge the technology gap, allowing students to teach seniors how to use computer devices, navigate the internet, and stay connected with family and friends.
Support for Caregivers: ElderServe recognizes the challenges faced by family caregivers. We provide resources, support groups, and educational programs to assist them in their important role.
Community Engagement: We strive to connect seniors with their community through events and initiatives that promote inclusivity and cultural enrichment.
