Crime Victim Services

ElderServe’s Crime Victim Services works with adults, 60 years of age and older, in Jefferson County who are victims of crime, including, but not limited to, crime of financial exploitation, abuse, sexual abuse, domestic violence, robbery, burglary and caregiver neglect.  ElderServe’s crime victim advocates are experienced, trustworthy and compassionate.  All information is confidential and all services are free!

Crime Victim Services helps older adults with:

  • filing police reports
  • replacing identification
  • obtaining Emergency Protective Orders
  • working with police
  • short-term emergency housing in cases of violence and abuse
  • filing Crime Victims’ Compensation Claims
  • accessing pertinent community services

Additionally, advocates train direct service personnel and community members on how to recognize conditions that put older adults at risk for criminal abuse, neglect or exploitation and how to report those conditions to appropriate authorities.
