ElderServe’s Crime Victim Services works with older adults 60+ in Jefferson County who are victims of crime, including but not limited to crimes of financial exploitation, abuse, sexual abuse, domestic violence, robbery, burglary, and caregiver neglect.
The purpose of the program is to support older adults in recovering from victimization, to increase access to the criminal justice system for older crime victims, and to increase awareness of elder abuse as a crime.
ElderServe’s crime victim advocates are experienced, trustworthy and compassionate. All information is confidential and all services are free.

Additionally, advocates train direct service personnel and speak to community members on how to recognize conditions that put older adults at risk for abuse, neglect or exploitation and how to report those conditions to appropriate authorities.
Advocates works closely with the Louisville Metro Police Department (especially the Crimes Against Seniors Unit), the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office, the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office, Legal Aid, Adult Protective Services, Center for Women and Families, University of Louisville Law Clinic, GuardiaCare, Jewish Family and Career Services, Metro United Way, KIPDA (Area Agency on Aging), Seven Counties Services, TRIAD, and the Elder Abuse Services Coordinating Council.
